Treatment stages

Implant care usually has a surgical phase and a restorative phase. The implant is placed under local anaesthetic and allowed time to integrate with the bone. After healing, impressions or scans are taken and the crown, bridge or denture is made. The total timeline varies, particularly when bone grafting or other preparatory treatment is needed.

Long-term care

Implants are not maintenance-free. Daily cleaning around the implant, regular professional care and control of gum disease are essential. Smoking, uncontrolled medical conditions, active infection, poor oral hygiene and insufficient bone can affect suitability and outcomes.
