Teeth Whitening

Dentist-guided whitening to safely lighten natural teeth and refresh your smile with a plan tailored to the type of discoloration you have.

Cosmetic Dentistry
A brighter smile, planned by a dentist

Professional whitening uses peroxide-based gel to break down stains within natural tooth structure. Results vary because not every type of discoloration responds in the same way. A dental assessment is important before whitening so that cavities, gum inflammation, cracks or other causes of colour change can be addressed first.

Your whitening journey
  • We discuss your goals and examine your teeth and gums.
  • Your dentist identifies the likely cause of discoloration and checks existing restorations.
  • A suitable in-clinic or take-home approach is recommended.
  • You receive clear instructions for using and maintaining your result.

Whitening changes the shade of natural teeth but does not whiten crowns, veneers or fillings. If these restorations are visible, your dentist can explain how whitening may affect the overall colour match.

Comfort and aftercare

Some people notice temporary tooth sensitivity or mild gum irritation. Use the gel only as directed and tell us if sensitivity becomes uncomfortable. Limiting strongly coloured food, drinks and tobacco after treatment can help maintain the result.

Frequently asked questions
Will whitening work for me?

Many yellow-toned stains respond well, while grey or injury-related discoloration may need a different approach. An examination helps set realistic expectations.

Is whitening permanent?

No. Teeth can darken again over time, and occasional maintenance may be recommended.

Can I whiten if I have fillings or crowns?

You may still be able to whiten natural teeth, but restorations will not change colour and may need review if the shade no longer matches.

Please note: Whitening is carried out only after a dentist confirms it is appropriate for you.
